Youcharis

Youcharis is our Sunday School with a difference.  We meet on the third Sunday of every month in our Church Hall. 

Each session is based around a bible story.  We respond to the story in the way that feels right: some of us read, some write, some draw, make collages or model with clay and, if we can prise the teenagers away from the play dough, we also get to make models with this. 

We use simple songs from the world church which are unaccompanied.  We also share squash, fairly traded biscuits and prayer together.  Again this is a service for all ages and adults enjoy it just as much as the children. 

Youcharis has given rise to our annual Good Friday activity day for children and young people.  At this we tell the story of Holy Week and Easter and we create altar frontals and wall hangings for the Easter Season in church.  We also have a labyrinth in church with which we are able to prayer walk the Easter story.    We hope to build on this by holding a similar activity day during Advent.
